Finding the right venue is one of the first steps of planning a wedding, but with so many venues to choose from, it can get overwhelming. Although not an extensive list, this lists some awesome Utah mountainous wedding venues to help launch your search! Click on individual venues to learn more about their pricing, capacity, etc. And just because I've received multiple calls asking to set up a tour at various venues... I AM NOT A VENUE ;) I am a wedding photographer who photographs venues all over Salt Lake City and Park City.
From the ceremony lawn, you’re looking straight at Mount Superior and the quartzite peaks that make Alta famous. The indoor space for receptions is rustic; the room has dark wood on walls, ceilings, and floors.
The newest and least-rustic wedding venue at Alta. The background for outdoor ceremonies has evergreen trees & what I can only describe as a hill, as opposed to more of a "mountain"/cliff. Receptions are held in a white, clean, luxury ballroom with high ceilings.
Ceremonies on the lawn have evergreen trees & hills in the background - similar (IMO) to the view at Snowpine Lodge. Receptions are room with dark wood paneling, large windows, and balconies. The venue offers the ability to buy out the lodge, allowing a full-weekend family/friend reunion.
Ceremonies are on an outdoor lawn with pine trees in the background - not cliffs or mountain peaks. Receptions feel more playful and nostalgic — woodsy, casual, and very “old Brighton.”
This lodge is at the base of the ski resort. Outdoor ceremonies look out over the ski slopes. The indoor reception space is a modern lodge — maximalist with large chandeliers, patterned floors, large windows, and light wood beams.
The BEST venue (where I got married). Everyone rides the gondola up to a lodge at the top of the mountain. The views during those 12 minutes up are spectacular. By the end of the night, you and your guests are the only ones at the top of the mountain (a dream). Ceremonies are held either on a dramatic mountaintop patio with jagged peaks or overlooking Ogden Valley and the reservoir. The building's interior has floor to ceiling windows, wood beams, massive chandeliers, and patterned floors.
The signature Snowbird hotel at the base of the resort. Ceremonies have views of the green mountains and cliffs of Little Cottonwood. Receptions are usually inside a classic ski resort ballroom — polished, elegant, and very resort-forward.
Guests ride up Snowbird's Tram to get to a venue at the top of the mountain. The ceremony site shows off dramatic, panoramic peaks. For couple's photos, you can access similar views from various patios. The inside of the building has large, epic windows.
My personal favorite place at Solitude! Accessible by a seven-minute chairlift ride, the Roundhouse sits at 8,700 feet on a ridgeline that yields 270-degree canyon views. Ceremonies are held on a manicured lawn wrapped in aspen trees. Receptions are held in the newly rebuilt lodge with its circular stone hearth.
Just outside the stone-and-timber St. Bernard’s restaurant sits is a lawn bordered by Little Cottonwood Creek and framed by aspens.
Moonbeam’s ceremony are held close to a large parking lot, making it very easy for guest arrivals. The primary ceremony site is the raised patio/upper deck—an amphitheater-like perch with lodge-pole railings, a clock-tower backdrop, and shots of the ski runs.
Ceremonies unfold on a lawn—a gently sloping meadow edged by tall pines, a trout pond, and a wooden boardwalk that serves as the bridal processional. The lodge’s barn doors frame the aisle, so in poor weather the party can pivot indoors.
Cermonies (and sometimes receptions) occur on large, outdoor deck with string lights & views of the ski slopes. The indoors is a traditional wood lodge dining room with fireplaces and low ceilings. Rooms 44 guests - which allows a full-weekend/friend reunion.
This is a French-inspired property with ponds, bridges, gardens, and willow trees. Ceremonies are usually in front of a vineyard with the Wasatch mountains in the background. Receptions take place in an elegant, greenhouse-like room.
Located in Millcreek Canyon, Log Haven wedding ceremonies happen in two main places: either on a grassy lawn in front of a small pond, or on a wooden deck backed by tall trees in the canyon. Receptions are typically held in the outdoor courtyard, which feels enclosed by the log building and smells wonderful.
Set in Parley’s Canyon between Salt Lake City and Park City, this venue is tucked away in the mountains. Ceremonies and receptions are often held outdoors - next to cliffs, overlooking more mountain ranges, and beside a natural waterfall.
In Millcreek Canyon, ceremonies are held in a large patio, surrounded by tall trees. Receptions can take place in the rustic indoors space, but often the ceremony space gets flipped during cocktail hour so guests can dine and dance outdoors and more fully enjoy the mountain.
Ceremonies are often held in the "Fragrance Garden" (aptly named) and you'll walk down the aisle on a winding path through beds of flowers. And actually say your vows under an arch of wisteria. and curated landscaping instead of natural wilderness. Receptions often are held in the Orangerie, an indoor greenhouse which is lush and wonderful year-round. This is more of a "garden" wedding as opposed to "mountain," but the venue is right on the foothills of Salt Lake, so you can see peaks at particular spots as well.
Siempre is a newer venue with multiple gorgeous spaces, both indoors and outdoors. There are two outdoor ceremony sites. One is in front of a dome with terra cotta tiles and white columns. The other features panoramic valley views. Receptions take place inside an all-white, modern ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows.
Ceremonies usually happen outside with tall pine trees and rugged canyon terrain behind the couple. Receptions can take place in the same outdoors or inside a rustic lodge dining room with wood paneling and a classic ski-cabin feel.
If you're balling on a budget (and okay with not having an indoor option in case of bad weather), Storm Mountain is the most beautiful spot at the most ridiculously cheap price. You can have ceremonies at the Amphitheater, set among dense pine trees with steep canyon walls. And then have receptions at Group Picnic Site. Unlike most venues, you can BYOB.
Located at the base of the spectacular Daly Chutes. There are multiple different decks and inside rooms for receptions, which have slate and granite fixtures, smooth cedar walls and vaulted ceilings.
Ceremonies overlook the mid-mountain plaza with surrounding ski runs. Receptions are in airy lodge dining rooms with large windows. It is an option to have guests arrive via a scenic chairlift ride.
Ceremonies typically take place on the grand mountain terrace overlooking Empire Canyon. Receptions move indoors to elegant ballrooms with tall ceilings and warm wood finishes; compared to other Deer Valley venues it’s the most luxurious and formal, feeling more like a high-end hotel wedding than a ski lodge gathering.
Ceremonies are held on the Flagstaff terrace framed by stone architecture and mountain peaks. Receptions continue inside dining rooms and ballrooms — warmer and more classic ski-lodge than St. Regis.
Available in the Summer, Cushing’s Cabin is an intimate and secluded setting for any wedding ceremony because it is accessible via shuttle and/or chairlift. Ceremonies are held with a mountain peaks as the backdrop. The inside the building is rustic - walls and ceiling are covered with wood.
Guests ride to the luxury hotel via funicular. Or access the venue directly from the ski slopes :) St. Regis can be the backdrop for any type of mountain look you'd want - terraces, lawns, outdoor tents, wood-paneled ballrooms, etc.
Ceremonies are usually held on the courtyard terrace with European alpine architecture surrounding you. Receptions continue inside a boutique-hotel dining space.
